HITTING THE RIGHT NOTE

Since the formation of the Squadron band in early 2009, cadets have been learning various instruments along with different pieces of music and band drill.  The cadets have been meeting on an additional parade evening to practice all these new skills and the hard work has paid off with the first band badges being awarded.

Five cadets have achieved their instrumentalist badges, with five cadets being rewarded with their drummers badges. Two cadets have also worked hard to accomplish their trumpet badges. To achieve these, they have had to show dedication to the Squadron band and show improvement in their chosen instrument.

These are such great achievements in such a short space of time, especially as most of them had not played before! There are many other cadets in the band working hard towards achieving their band badges (also pictured)
